The battle

Ever since creation, Satan has fought with distortions and lies to mislead us humans and keep us captive in our harmful desires. He presents himself as a messenger of light so that we might accept his lies and mix them with the truth, thereby stripping it of its power. Darkness works just like leaven and yeast, a little of which affects the whole dough. In the same way, a little darkness can darken our entire mind. To emerge fully from the darkness, God equips us through His Word and Spirit to be cut loose under His guidance. God encourages us, through His Spirit, to learn to grasp His Word skillfully in order to fight with it in love by actively evaluating our own thinking and thereby serving others as well. We do not claim to know and understand everything, but we diligently commit ourselves to seeking and fighting together for God and for one another.

God’s Son

God has caused His living Word to be born in this world and shown its power. Through His Word that became flesh (Yeshua¹/Jesus), God has shown that His Word overcomes even the greatest enemy. Grasping God’s Word like a sword is the same as grasping God’s incarnate Word, Yeshua (He who saves). And who can now steal from His mighty hand? With hope and joy, we may study the Bible and seek God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.

(2 Timothy 2:15) Strive to present yourself competently to God, as a worker who need not be ashamed (of any unnecessary lack), who rightly divides the Word of truth.

Overcoming

By understanding how God’s Spirit uses the Word as a sword, it becomes easier to work together to cut out all wrong reasoning and conclusions from our thinking. This results in a healthy and powerful mind that is firmly rooted in the Rock.
